Players learn the importance of good health to their game from a Canadian athlete
London, March 1st, 2025 – The ice was buzzing with excitement as young hockey players laced up their skates for the 2025 Skillet Skate, a special event hosted by Egg Farmers of Ontario (EFO). This unforgettable experience featured Canadian paralympic sledge hockey star Tyler McGregor, who led a thrilling two-hour session filled with drills, skills, and inspiration for farm family kids and athletes from the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA).
McGregor, a 3-time paralympian, 3-time world champion and captain of Canada’s National Para Ice Hockey Team, brought his passion for the game to the rink, guiding young players through drills and sharing his journey in hockey. His message of perseverance and dedication resonated with the kids, who were eager to learn from one of Canada’s best.
Beyond the ice, the event was packed with excitement. Kids had the chance to meet Tyler, receive goodie bags, and take part in a raffle featuring a signed jersey. The atmosphere was electric as young athletes soaked in every moment, skating alongside a true role model.
“Today is a celebration of our overall well-being. To celebrate all of the health benefits eggs provide and all of the benefits sports provide.” said McGregor.
Eggs play a crucial role in fueling young athletes, providing high-quality protein essential for recovery and overall performance. This year’s Skillet Skate was a celebration of community, sport, and the overall health benefits eggs provide to young athletes. It highlighted the shared values of hard work, teamwork, and determination, both on the farm and on the ice.
