Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth at Ontario's Best Butter Tart Festival

 Get ready to satisfy your sweet tooth and immerse yourself in a butter tart extravaganza as Ontario's Best Butter Tart Festival returns to the town of Midland on June 10, 2023. This highly anticipated event promises a day filled with delicious treats, lively entertainment, and family-friendly activities for all to enjoy.

The festival, which is now celebrating its 10th anniversary, has become a beloved annual tradition, drawing an impressive crowd of 60,000 visitors from across Canada. Nestled in Midland's downtown core and waterfront, the festival serves as a delightful celebration of one of Ontario's most cherished culinary treasures—the butter tart.

Visitors can expect a delightful array of over 200,000 butter tarts available for sampling and purchase. Local downtown merchants will join the outdoor festivities, and add to the more than 200 vendors selling an eclectic mix of goods, including clothing, jewelry, home decor, personal care products, and handcrafted items. Food trucks will also be on-site, ensuring that attendees have a variety of food options beyond butter tarts to indulge in throughout the day.

One of the festival's highlights is the highly anticipated Egg Farmers of Ontario Butter Tart Contest. Both professional and amateur bakers will compete for the title of baking the best butter tart. The contest features two categories: Traditional, which includes plain, raisin, pecan, or walnut butter tarts, and Wild Style, which showcases butter tarts with unique and unconventional ingredients. A panel of over 27 judges, including Ontario egg farmers Harry Eisses and Kailee Wohlgemuth from Zone 8, will carefully evaluate each entry. 

For those eager to sample the contest entrants’ creations, mixed six-packs of contest butter tarts will be available for purchase at $15.
