5 Tips for a Zero Waste Easter

1. Get Chopping!

Instead of buying multi-colored egg dyes, why not use ingredients you already have at home. Follow this easy-to-follow egg dying chart to create a rainbow of colours the whole family can enjoy!

Note: boil your ingredient with the water and vinegar for 30 minutes and let cool completely before dying the eggs, let the eggs soak for a minimum of 30 minutes – overnight for a richer colour. Place 1 cup of water for 1 tablespoon of vinegar.

2. Get Thrifty!

Plan to reuse your Easter egg containers if hosting an egg hunt. Whether using plastic reusable egg containers or wooden ones, keep a storage bin ready to use them again the following year.

3. Get Planting!

Plant seeds directly in your biodegradable egg cartons right in time for the growing season! Some veggies you can plant at this time of year include zucchini, cucumber, spinach, basil and lettuce.
