Egg Carton Candy Cane
Egg Carton Christmas Tree
What you need:
- Egg cartons (we used one carton for the tree and one and a half for the candy cane)
- Scissors
- Tape
- Paint or markers
- Wire coat hanger
- Wire cutters
Candy Cane:
Step 1: cut the top off the carton and cut the cups into separate sections.
Step 2: Colour half of the cups red; you will only need to colour the top of ONE of the cups, as the rest will be hidden once it has been assembled. Paint can also be used to colour the cups.
Step 3: Using the wire cutters, cut the long, straight part of the coat hanger off.
Step 4: Bend the wire at one end so that it is shaped like a candy cane. Create a very small loop on the curved end to keep the cups from falling off the top.
Step 5: Assemble the cups onto the wire, by carefully piecing the wire through the carton. Starting with the fully coloured cup, alternate between red and white cups.
Step 6: Once all the cups have been put on, wrap a piece of tape around the bottom of the wire to secure the cups in place.
